SALEM TWP — Two people were killed early Friday morning when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole along Hamlin Highway in Salem Township, Wayne County near the village of Hamlin.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.

The crash caused a power outage that affected local residents and businesses for several hours and led to the temporary closure of the roadway.
