Wayne County — A structure fire broke out Sunday night at 56A Bavarian Hill Road in Berlin Township, exactly two months after a New Year’s Day house fire at the same property killed Edward M. Siro Sr., 91, of Beach Lake.

Sunday's fire was initially dispatched as a fully involved structure fire with entrapment. A later report indicated the occupant had escaped from the home. Crews worked several hours to extinguish the fire.

The earlier fire occurred Jan. 1 at 56B Bavarian Hill Road and resulted in Siro’s death, according to the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.

The latest incident marks the second house fire on the property in exactly two months. Authorities have not released an official statement on the fire. NEPA News will provide updates if additional information becomes available.
