PAUPACK TOWNSHIP, Wayne County. A fatal motor vehicle collision was reported Sunday morning in Paupack Township, according to the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office was dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:55 a.m. on December 21, 2025, at 243 Finn Swamp Road in Lake Ariel. Chief Deputy Coroner Mark M. James responded and pronounced an adult male deceased at the scene.

The decedent was identified as Kevin Dexter Laborde, 49, of Scranton, Pennsylvania. According to the coroner’s report, Laborde had been a rear seat passenger in a sedan that left the roadway and struck multiple trees. He was ejected from the vehicle.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. The cause and manner of death are listed as pending investigation.

Pennsylvania State Police are also investigating the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details were released at this time.
