Multiple Agencies Respond to Active Investigation in Honesdale

A large police presence was observed Friday morning as multiple law enforcement agencies established what appeared to be a command post at the YMCA in Honesdale.
NEPA News observed units from the Pennsylvania State Police, Honesdale Borough Police Department, Pike County Sheriff's Office, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission at the scene.
According to a press release from the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers are investigating an incident that occurred Friday morning in the area of River Street in Honesdale Borough, Wayne County.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Troopers said they are continuing to gather information and conduct interviews related to the incident.
State police emphasized that, based on the information available at this time, there is no known threat to the public.
