THE HIDEOUT, Wayne County

Three members of The Hideout Association Board of Directors have resigned, effective immediately, according to a notice sent to association members Thursday.

In a written statement, the board confirmed that Andrew Miller, Lou Delli Santi, and Rick Yocum stepped down from their positions. The remaining directors (Maureen DiGiovanni, Ed Esposito, Lisa McKenna, and Bill Wagner) accepted the resignations and noted that the three vacant seats will be filled in accordance with Article X, Section 6 of The Hideout bylaws.

The resignations come amid increased public scrutiny following a December 14 NEPA News investigative report that examined the transparency of the José Duran Memorial Fund and outlined ties between the three departing board members and Angel Alliance, the organization associated with the fund.

The NEPA News investigation raised questions about oversight and transparency related to the fund. The board’s resignation notice did not provide a reason for the departures and did not reference the investigative report.

The statement concluded with a thank you to the departing directors for their service to the community.

In a statement posted publicly on social media following his resignation, former board vice president Lou Delli Santi said his decision to step down was prompted by an event that occurred during a board meeting held earlier that day. Delli Santi described what took place as “absolutely disgusting,” but stated that he could not disclose details due to an oath of confidentiality related to the executive session. He said his resignation was effective immediately and emphasized that he chose to speak publicly to prevent what he described as false rumors and assumptions. Delli Santi added that he wished he could have continued serving the membership for the remainder of his term.

NEPA News will continue to follow developments.
